This section provides links to providers of technology and technology-related services that may be useful for teleworkers and teleworking programs. We do not endorse particular products; however, products listed here are believed to be useful and cost-effective. The list will be updated fairly frequently.

• Security and Virtual Private Networking (VPN) are fast becoming top priorities for Internet-enabled remote access to company networks. Among the VPN providers are: AT&T Business Data Services; Avaya; Axcelerant; Check Point; Cisco; Neoteris; NetSilica; Plethora Technology; Positive Networks; SonicWall. An interesting variant of conventional VPN access is provided by TravelingPC which materially reduces exposure to security breaches by revitalizing the timeshare approaches of the '60s. I'm In Touch also provides a remote access system via software available at most large discount electronic stores. For home-based or small office teleworkers, Zyxel's ZyWall Internet security appliances might be worth a look. Another approach to this issue is Netsuite. NetSuite enables companies to take advantage of all the benefits of Telecommuting and eliminates the traditional drawbacks. As a Web-based solution NetSuite is ideally suited for telecommuting and offers total flexibility - employees can work at any location where they have internet access (office, at home or whilst traveling). This provides companies with the ability to allow employees to telecommute full- or part-time, without the expense of setting up a VPN.
• Voice for Teleworkers. Both computer-aided phone switching and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) are beginning to complete the integrated telecommunications possibilities. Vendors include Avaya's IP Softphone; Teltone OfficeLink; and Home Office Phone Tips for the home office developer in need of voice technology.  Packet8 Virtual Office provides a Voice over IP (VoIP) hosted PBX service, small business phone system alternative that allows small to medium-sized businesses (SMB) anywhere in the world to employ an unlimited number of extension options and enjoy geographic independence and flexibility.
• Telework Servers . Telework server services provide a common, Internet-accessible method for tying teleworkers into their employers' networks. One of the leading vendors of these services is  Expertcity's GoToMyPC. TravelingPC, mentioned above, also provides these services.
• Telework Management Software. Software for managing project costs and time, for in-house as well as teleworker staff. DOVICO is an award-winning provider in this category. For time and effort tracking—and keeping records of daily progress—check out SureTime and Clockware. For that pesky problem of tracking telecom charges, call accounting, try Genesis Systems.
• Instant Messaging (IM) Software. IM may be a useful tool for keeping teleworkers in touch. Poorly managed, it may also be a source of interruptions sufficient to sap teleworkers' productivity. There is also the security issue. For reliable, security-conscious IM software check IBM Lotus IM, Jabber, Microsoft Office Live Communications Server, and Novell GroupWise Messenger.
• Audio/video Conferencing Software. Packages that allow an array of group/individual communications including VOIP, IM, and video conferencing. Check out 1st Works' hotComm and test it for yourself. Options range from audio-only to complete presentation support including a proxy server. Also look at Citrix' GoToMeeting for a location-independent approach.
• Remote Access Technology. Ways of linking to employees/clients who are not otherwise connected by broadband technology. Satellite Internet HughesNet offers High-Speed Satellite Internet anywhere, even in areas where cable modem and DSL do not reach.
